About us At Vidhyapeeth Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal, the Department of Mechanical Engineering is at the forefront of preparing the next generation of engineers to face the challenges of an ever-evolving technological landscape. With a storied history of excellence in education, research, and innovation, our department is dedicated to imparting in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the vast field of mechanical engineering. We aim to produce mechanical engineers who are not only technically proficient but also ethical, innovative, and ready to contribute to the betterment of society. Through rigorous coursework, collaborative research, and industry partnerships, we prepare our students for successful careers in mechanical engineering and beyond.  Department Vision Our aim is to achieve recognition in academia and research by cultivating engineers who are responsible citizens, innovative thinkers, sought-after by employers, and equipped to pursue further studies and research endeavors.  Department Mission M1 - Provide education that establishes strong foundations in mechanical engineering and other multidisciplinary engineering domains to tackle worldwide obstacles. M2 - Prepare the students to excel in their profession through efficient and effective learning, research, innovation, leadership and entrepreneurship. M3 - Develop professional responsibility, sustainability and networking skills among the faculty and students to ethically address the needs of society.  Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) – (UG) PEO1: Graduates make their way to the society with proper scientific and technical knowledge to identify, formulate and solve Mechanical Engineering problems. PEO2: Graduates adapt to a rapidly changing environment in the areas of Mechanical Engineering and explore a possible profession in industry, academic, research and self-employment opportunities. PEO3: Graduates excel in a career by their team-working ability and communicate effectively to complete the task with minimal resources. PEO4: Graduates commit to professional and ethical practices encouraging diversity, continuous improvement and lifelong learning.  Program Outcomes PO1: Engineering knowledge: Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering for the solution of computer science & engineering problems. PO2: Problem analysis: Ability to formulate and analyze complex computer science & engineering problems. PO3: Design/development of solutions: Ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, and public health. PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: An ability to analyze a problem, and identify, formulate and use the appropriate computing and engineering requirements for obtaining its solution PO5: Modern tool usage: Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for computer science and engineering practice. PO6: The engineer and society: Ability to include social, cultural, ethical issues with engineering solutions. PO7: Environment and sustainability: Ability to consider the impact of engineering solutions on environment and the need for sustainable development. PO8: Ethics: Ability to apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the computer science & engineering practice. PO9: Individual and team work: Ability to function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings. PO10: Communication: Ability to communicate effectively. on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with t h e society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions. PO11: Project management and finance: Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of principles of management and finance in relation to engineering projects. PO12: Life-long learning: Appreciation of technological change and the need for independent life-long learning.  Program Specific Outcomes (UG) PSO1: Mechanical Engineering Design: Achieve optimized product design utilizing the advanced knowledge in thermal engineering, material science, manufacturing and production. PSO2: Mechanical Engineering Analysis: Analyze, interpret and provide solutions to real life mechanical engineering and related problems. PSO3: Managerial Excellence: Attain excellence in using managerial tools and techniques for effective and efficient manufacturing and in developing leadership skills with ethical and environmental practices.
